Thanksgiving

Things have been so busy around here that I haven't had time to post anything. I figure I better catch up before the end of the year.

Thanksgiving was nice this year. We went over to my parents and enjoyed dinner and played some games. I forgot (gasp) to get my camera out at my moms so I don't have pictures. Oh well can't be on top of things all the time.

Joe was gone Thanksgiving morning playing football but the kids and I managed to make it out the door and meet him at my moms almost exactly at the same time.

I reall love these days that are just all about being with family. It seems like our lives get so busy sometimes that days just fly by when you blink. It was great having a nice day with no where we had to go.

Emma's first steps!

My baby is growing up so fast. I have been so sad lately realizing that she is almost one. This entire year has been so filled with major events that time has literally flown by. I still think Emma is my teeny baby but now she wants to be moving and getting into things. She is my cuddler though when she is tired she likes to snuggle up next to me or fall asleep on my shoulder.

Sorry it's kind of dark we'll get a better one soon!

Faith's Kindergarten picture

I just love this picture. I was worried about how it would turn out as school pictures are sometimes rushed. I was happily surprised when Faith's picture came out this beautiful.

Today I made: These are Ginger cremes which I love. Usually we make them around Christmas and sprinkle them red and green but since it is not quite Christmas I decided to make them pink. Anyway after I was finished Levi of course wants one so he takes a bite, looks at the pan and says, "Wow mom I can't believe you made this all by yourself." Thanks Levi I try. Sometimes!

1/2 cup shortening

1 1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

1/4 cup molasses

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp ginger

1 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp cloves

1 tsp cinnamon

1 cup hot water

2 tsp baking soda

4 cups flour

1 cup raisins (optional)

Cream shortening and sugar well. Add unbeaten egg and mix well. Add molasses and beat again. Put floru and spices together, alternate with hot water so soda is dissolved. Chill dough. Smooth into 9x13 pan. Bake @ 350 10 to 15 minutes. Complete with your favorite frosting and some sprinkles.

Faith lost her first tooth

I can't believe my baby lost a tooth already. She's not even 6 yet. Oh well she was super excited. By the way who teaches kids about the tooth fairy because the first thing she said was "Do I get to stick it under my pillow for the tooth fairy?"

Notes from the heart

Whenever Faith has free time at school she writes Joe and I a note. We each get out own envelopes with our names on them containing some type of pictures. Here are todays.
We love you too Faith, keep up the great work.

I voted! Did you?

Joe and I took an hour out of our day to go vote today. I hope everyone took the time to vote in this important election.

Is it really November?

Wow! Ever since we have lived in Missouri it has been cold by Halloween and stayed cold. Maybe not freezing but definately not shorts and t-shirt weather. This year however here we are enjoying a 70 degree day on November 1st. I told the kids to enjoy this while we can because in a few months we will be wishing for an outside day.

One of those loving moments we have to cherish.

Check out my big girl. I think mostly she's wondering what that tickly stuff on her toes is.

P.S. Don't worry the weather will go back to normal. Thursday's high is 48 degrees. Do I hear sickness coming on, better make those doctor appointments now.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was great this year. Michael even came over to walk around with us. Faith and Levi got tons of candy which Joe has enjoyed "helping" them eat after they go to bed.

Emma as you can tell was not liking her poodle had but she couldn't figure out how to pull it off.
